Aside from our general best practices for participating in interviews, we have a few non-negotiable rules that can determine your eligibility for participation. Breaching any of these may lead to your account being ineligible for interview assignments, and depending on the severity, your account could potentially be banned from the UserCrowd platform altogether.
Provide accurate demographics in your profile
As with our testing rules, intentionally misrepresenting your demographic and profile details will cause your account to be banned from the UserCrowd platform. Please ensure that you update your profile details as soon as any of your information changes, especially your country of residence.
Answer screener questions honestly
Providing dishonest answers to screener questions in order to qualify for an interview will result in the loss of future interview assignments, and possibly a ban from testing.
If it is discovered during a session that you were not honest in your screener answers, the researcher has the right to end the session early and report it. In addition to losing eligibility for interviews and possibly tests, you will not be compensated for the session.
Show up during your scheduled time
Not showing up to a scheduled interview session without getting in touch with us may result in losing your eligibility for interview assignments.
If something comes up at the last minute or you run into technical issues while attempting to connect to your interview please let us know by using the chat bubble in the bottom right corner of the session's Join page.
Use the required equipment for the interview
Interviews will always show what equipment is required for the session before participating. Researchers will sometimes test things that would only be available on a desktop or only on a mobile device so it's important to pay attention to what is required for the interview you're applying for. This can include a webcam, a microphone, as well as mobile or desktop requirements.
If you do not use the required setup during the interview then the researcher has the right to end the interview early and report the session. If the researcher does decide to end the interview early and report the session then you may lose eligibility for future interviews and potentially lose the incentive for participating in this interview.
Stay for the full interview
When booking an interview, you are committing to the full duration requested by the interviewer, unless the session runs faster than intended and the researcher ends it early. This means if the interview is 45 minutes long, plan to participate for the entire 45 minutes.
If you leave the call early without completing the full interview, the researcher has the right to report it and you may lose eligibility to participate in future interviews. You may also lose compensation for the time you did spend on the call.
That being said, if the session starts to run longer than specified, you do have the right to leave the session at the end of the intended duration if needed. Let the researcher know at the start of the session if you have a hard stop at the end.
Don't skip questions
Make sure to answer each question in detail while completing screener questions as well as questions during the interview session. If you have not completed a task or answered a question requested by the researcher but misrepresent that you have, you will be reported and made ineligible for interviews moving forward.
The researcher also has the right to end the session early and report it. In addition to losing eligibility, this may result in you losing compensation for the time spent in the session as well.
Treat content as confidential
Similar to the material you might see while taking tests, you are not allowed to disseminate any of the content that is shared with you by a researcher during an interview.
If it is reported or discovered that you have taken a screenshot or a screen recording and shared it with an external party, you will immediately be banned from the UserCrowd platform and will not be permitted to participate in any further tests or interviews. You will also become ineligible to receive a payout for any funds you have accumulated in your UserCrowd balance.
Be professional and respectful
We think this goes without saying, but any aggressive, profane, vulgar, harassing, suggestive or otherwise unsociable and unprofessional behavior will be reported and will result in an immediate ban from the UserCrowd platform, for both interviews and tests.
