For each test you complete, credit will be added to your UserCrowd balance. Once you have reached the minimum balance required for a payout, and as long as you've provided thoughtful and high-quality responses on each test, you can cash that balance out and get paid.

UserCrowd is a great way to make a little extra money for giving design feedback but it should not be relied upon as a primary source of income.

How much can I earn?

Each test earns a different amount based on its length and complexity—approximately $0.20 USD per minute. Most tests are relatively short and pay between $0.20 and $1.00 USD, while some tests may be longer. For some tests, you may be asked to complete one or more pre-screening questions to determine your eligibility for the test. If you don't meet the requirements after answering the screener question(s), you will still be compensated for completing the screener.

We'll let you know how long a test will be and how much you'll earn when we send each test invitation your way.

When can I open a payout?

Once you have earned a minimum of $10.00 USD, you will be eligible for a payout request.

How do I request a payout and how will I get paid?

UserCrowd makes payments by PayPal only. You will need to register for a PayPal account if you don't already have one, then enter your PayPal account's email address on your profile to be eligible for a payout.

Important: If you live in a country where PayPal may restrict international payments, please ensure your account can accept these payments before taking tests. Payments can only be made via PayPal, so if your account cannot receive payments from our platform, we will not be able to compensate you for your time.

To start your payment request, head over to the payout page by clicking the Manage payouts button on your dashboard.

On the payout page, click the blue Request a payout button. This will open a payment request for your balance in full.

Your responses will then be reviewed for quality based on our response quality guidelines, and your payment will be processed if approved.

How long does it take to process my request?

Our quality assurance team aims to fulfill payouts within 7 days of your request. If we're experiencing a high volume of requests, it can take up to 30 days to review and process your payout.

Frequently asked questions

Why did I get paid less than I requested?

Each response you provide is reviewed by a member of our team and graded based on its quality. Responses that are poor, contain profanity, or are incomplete may be rejected. In these cases, you will still be paid for your accepted responses, and the rejected answers are deducted from your total.

Why did my payout get rejected or why haven't I received it?

Rejected payments

Requests may be rejected if your responses do not meet our minimum standard according to our response quality guidelines. If your request is rejected for quality, we'll email you to let you know as soon as it happens.

Pending payments

If your payment's status is Pending, this usually means we've tried to send it your way, but PayPal could not add the funds to your account. This sometimes happens when:

  • The PayPal email address you provided is not linked to a valid PayPal account. Check your email for a message from PayPal with instructions to manually claim your payment. You'll have 30 days to claim the payment before PayPal automatically returns the payment to us.

  • Your PayPal account is not set up to automatically receive payments or has been limited due to an account issue. You may need to get in touch with PayPal's support team to help you claim the payment.

Failed payments

If your payment's status is Failed payment, this is usually because of an issue with your PayPal account. Check with PayPal's support team to ensure your account is eligible to receive international payments.

Once you've cleared any issues with your PayPal account, you can send us an email and we'll be happy to try it again.
