Supported devices
You can take tests and interviews from your desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Some tests and interviews are specifically designed to be taken on a desktop (computer, laptop) or mobile device (smartphone), so if the notification specifies that the test or interview is for desktop or mobile only, you will only be able to take it if you open it from that type of device.
You will receive an error message if the device you are using does not match the specified device type for the test or interview. If the notification doesn't specify a device type, you can use any supported device. For interviews, there will be a specific requirement for cameras, microphones, both or neither.
UserCrowd tests will work on any mobile operating system as long as you are using one of the most recent versions of one of the browsers listed below. Interviews will require video conferencing software, the exact one will be specified by the researcher. Some may require a download, while others can be used within any of the web browsers listed below.
If you have an older device and receive an error using one of the browsers below, check the version of your browser against the two most recently released versions—some older devices may not allow you to update your browser to a recent version. If that's the case, you may not be able to take tests or participate in interviews on your mobile device.
Supported browsers
We support the two most recent versions of the following web and mobile browsers:
Chrome
Firefox
Safari
Edge (Note: Edge on Android is not supported)
Mainly due to security reasons, we do not support using UserCrowd with Internet Explorer, either in web or mobile. You will receive an error message if you attempt to open a test in an IE browser or an outdated version of another browser.
