When you sign up to UserCrowd, you'll be asked to select the times that you are available to take tests and how you prefer to receive notifications when a test is available for you to take.
We'll only send you tests that you are eligible for during the times you select, so your availability may determine how many tests you receive on average.
Weekdays are typically busier than weekends but in general, the greater your availability, the more tests you may receive. That said, you will want to make sure that your availability matches when you are actually able to take tests, as you typically will only have a few minutes after receiving a notification to open the test before it's been completed.
Opting in or out of Interviews and tests
By default, you will be opted in to receive invitations to Interviews, tests, and tests with recording requirements. You can choose to opt out of any of these at any time in your Availability & notification settings:
If you select to turn either Interviews or tests off, you will no longer receive invitations to participate in that type of study. In addition, if you opt-out of tests with recording requirements you will only receive tests without recording requirements.
Setting your availability
You can update your availability at any time in your Availability & notifications settings. We don't currently support the ability to set different time ranges for individual days; the time range you select will apply to all of the days of the week that you select.
Managing your notifications
You can manage your notifications from the Availability & notifications page in your settings:
We recommend having both push and email notifications enabled so that you don't miss out on any tests. By enabling push notifications, you will receive an immediate notification even if you have closed the UserCrowd tab in your browser.
Troubleshooting notifications
If you have enabled push notifications but are still not receiving them, it's often a browser issue. You can take the following steps to try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check your browser. Push notifications will not work in Internet Explorer, Edge, or Safari for desktop, or on any iOS devices. We are working to resolve this but in the meantime, recommend using something like a new version of Chrome on your desktop.
Make sure you have notifications enabled in your browser. Even if push notifications are turned on from your UserCrowd dashboard, they won't work if the browser you’re using doesn’t have notifications enabled. You can find out more about how to do that within your specific browser here.
If you have a browser add-on or software installed that automatically disables notifications for your browser, test notifications will not come through. You'll need to disable it in order to receive push notifications.
If you're using a private/incognito browser window, try using a standard one. Notifications are often blocked when in private/incognito mode.
